Started at the Chicago Fish Company in 1993, purchased Clearwater Fisheries in January of 1996. Clearwater merged with Plitt in July of 2001.

John says that his most beneficial trait is his open mind. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities that require out-of-the-box thinking. He also says his sense of humor helps him roll with the changes and keeps his customers entertained and informed at the same time.

His parents are both entrepreneurs and that helped shape his entrepreneurial spirit which he uses to help create new ventures within Plitt, i.e., brand building, joint ventures, geographic expansion, etc.

John's biggest charge comes from parenting his two daughters. He is quickly learning that between the two of them he will be out numbered and out classed for years to come.
